Jae
Jae (they/them) is amazing to be around and a great, experienced teacher. We snapped her up right when they were starting their Masters in vocal pedagogy (teaching singing) and they are still in process of that. What’s amazing about Jae is their ability to connect with a lot of different people.
Jae told me right before their audition “My teacher told me something and I just can’t ever get it out of my head. He said ‘Teaching is first about empathy’).” And that sums up the experience that is Jae.
“Teaching is first about empathy”
Right then I wanted to hire them because that’s what we believe, too. But I had to audition them – it was hard to wait though. Then the audition started and it was phenomenal.
Jae teaches non-classical styles and also is experienced in liturgical/faith based singing in both classical and non-classical settings.
Jae helps in our trans/enby program. Their sister is actually trans and Jae is very sensitive to trans/enby issues and is meeting weekly with Dr Felix to become certified by our studio for the trans program.
Jae gives a beautiful and useful lesson and is currently teaching Saturday days and Tuesday afternoon / nights. Try their session risk-free with our money-back guarantee on all first lessons.

Collin
Collin (he/him) is a kind and effective teacher who we’re really proud to have at the studio!
Collin is our first “official” Gen Z teacher and comes to us with an advanced post-masters certificate in vocal pedagogy from NYU and is in process of their separate post-masters certificate in vocology* which is very rare. When I saw that Collin’s got both vocology along with the pedagogy certificate, I knew he was an over-achiever and I wanted to meet with him to find out if he was also amazing to be around. It’s not very common for a person to be so degreed but also approachable and good with people, so I was really surprised when his energy was so inclusive and he was so amazing as a person. From there we got him into an audition ASAP which he killed.
Collin is a Baritone (specifically a “bari-tenor” in musical theater slang) and gives a very student-focused lesson, bringing to bear his anatomical knowledge, physiological awareness, as well as his acoustical and psychological approach from his background as a vocologist* I also greatly appreciate that he’s able to communicate his ideas in a very user-friendly way which I think is really important.
Side note, for undergraduate, Collin quadruple majoured. No lie. He has undergraduate degrees in Musical Theater, Vocal Performance, Philosophy, and Poli-Sci.
In addition to his teaching, he has also performed in operas and musical theater productions at Iris Kantor Theater, NYC’s Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts, the Provincetown Playhouse, Bay View Music Festival, Fort Dodge Society, and the Broadway Dreams Foundation at Philadelphia’s Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts. He was a semifinalist for the NATS NYC 2022 National Musical Theatre Voice Competition as well which is kinda a big deal.
