We have one of NYC largest and most successful trans/enby voice departments in NYC, headed by Dr Felix Graham. Dr Graham is trans masc and directs the program and has a bachelors, then a masters in music pedagogy (teaching music), and both a Masters and Doctorate in vocal pedagogy from Columbia. He’s also an active and respected researcher in the field of hormonal effects on the voice, voice and identity, vocal injuries, and trans/enby issues in voice training.
Other things to know about Dr F: he directs the world first classical trans/enby vocal ensemble called TRANScend which was born out of a choir we started here at the studio and now is its own non-profit.
He provides training and mentorship to our trans voice teachers as well as oversees our vocal injuries clients here at the studio and now brings TRANScend to sold-out festivals, Pride events, venues, and even nightclubs where they perform sacred music from trans/enby composers in the past as well as original sacred pieces written and arranged by Dr F himself.

Jae (they/them) is our amazing teacher in the trans voice department. Jae is certified in trans/enby voice at level 1 in trans/enby certification and is in process of their Masters in vocal pedagogy. They’ve been teaching 12 years. Jae is a very approachable and able to connect with their students and community. Jae is continuing their mentorship with Dr Felix and working on their Master’s thesis in Trans/Enby voice and their level 2 certification with our studio.
Jae’s personal experience as an enby singer, as well as their experience having a trans sister, informs their approach with our trans and enby clients.
One thing Jae says they can never forget is something their teacher told her: “Teaching is first about empathy”. And that sums up Jae’s approach in a really beautiful way.
Jae is working with Dr Felix toward their level 2 certification in trans voice with our studio.

Aerith (she/her, they/them, fae/faer) is the newest addition to our trans/enby voice program and comes to us with a Masters in vocal pedagogy and the lived experience of being trans/enby. She is in the process of her level 1 certification at our studio.
Other things to know about Aerith: Fae is really great on piano and a self-taught multi-instrumentalist. They used to think intelligence can manifest as just being an all-around multi-instrumental musician (and this idea in its newer form continues to this day). That’s Aerith. But she’s also one of the most charming people you’ll meet and she has a way of putting nervous singers and speakers at ease that was really impressive at her audition. Aerith was trained as a baritone/counter-tenor and now is a contralto and sings in Dr F’s TRANScend chorale in NYC.
