- *Check out this guide for additional information about USB Microphones
- MIDI Keyboard Controllers:
- 25 keys (compact and portable):
- 49 keys (better for pianistic two hand playing):
- 61 keys (almost full keyboard sized)
- *Many electric keyboards/pianos can work as a MIDI controller if you plug in a USB A/B cable (a lot of printers use these kinds of cable) and connect it to your computer.
Large-Diaphragm Condenser Mics (these are microphones that are most often used in the studio for recording vocals, because they do a great job capturing the details and clarity compared to the handheld dynamic microphones)
- Audio-Technica AT2020 (this is more of a “medium-diaphragm” condenser mic; Billie Eilish uses this one)
- Rode NT1-A
- AKG C214
- *Important to remember: More expensive doesn’t mean “better”. Different mics will have different sonic characteristics; recording artists and engineers choose microphones based on the vocalist. A microphone that sounds amazing on one singer may not sound the same on another singer! Your recording environment is also extremely important. An expensive mic doesn’t mean your recordings will automatically sound amazing, and vice versa.
